A Harassment Contact Person is a support person you can turn to if you feel you have experienced harassment by another student or a member of the staff. They provide support and guidance in addressing and resolving situations involving harassment.
You are also welcome to contact a Harassment Contact Person if you are unsure whether your experience constitutes harassment or if you simply want to discuss possible ways to respond to the situation. All conversations with a Harassment Contact Person are treated with strict confidentiality. If necessary, they can also help direct you to additional support services.
We follow Safer Space Principles at all our events and in all our spaces:
- Respect boundaries: Respect other people’s physical and psychological boundaries, as well as their right to self-determination. Do not touch anyone without asking for their consent. Remember that you can not know another person’s boundaries without asking. Respect your own need for space when necessary.
- Treat others with respect: Do not mock, ridicule, belittle, exclude, or humiliate anyone through your words, behaviour, or actions. Avoid commenting on people’s appearance, spreading gossip, or reinforcing stereotypes.
- Don’t make assumptions: Do not make assumptions based on a person’s appearance or behaviour. Likewise, do not make assumptions about anyone’s sexuality, gender, nationality, ethnicity, religion, values, socioeconomic background, health, or ability.
